Itching, Itching, Itching

I don't think I have ever been more uncomfortable in my entire life. I woke up in the middle of the night to my hands and feet itching. Not just any itch, but a severe itch that wouldn't let up no matter how hard I scratched.

At first I thought it could be an allergy, but there was no rash. So as soon as the doctor's office opened this morning, I called to ask the nurse if it was something to worry about.

As soon as I got a hold of the nurse they told me to go right to Labor and Delivery (woman's center) for some tests. They ended up admitting me so they could monitor the baby's heart rate and get a blood sample to check my liver.

Everything checked out fine, but they couldn't come up with a reason I should have this constant itch. They sent me home and told me to take some benadryl.

Now I feel all doped up and sleepy, but STILL have my constant ITCH! AHHH! I don't think I can handle another 5 1/2 weeks of this.

I guess that son of yours is just ITCHING to get out and see the world, his parents, and other relatives. I know that was a bad pun, but I couldn't resist.

I start itching as soon as I'm pregnant. That was the first sign with this one that I thought I was pregnant. Hang in there!

The same thing happened to me when I would touch oranges while pregnant! I didn't get a rash but arms would itch horrendously for a day or two and then it would go away. I hope it's the same kind of thing for you and it goes away!

My hands were super itchy when I was pregnant with Matthew. I put on lots of cortisone cream. I had a friend in VA that was super itchy all over her body in her last trimester with her first child and they ended up inducing her early because it was horrible. Some pregnant ladies develop the all over body itchiness for an unknown reason that doesn't go away until the baby is born. I hope that's not the case with you because that would not be fun. Good luck! Not too much longer to go.

oh man, what a pain! I itched at the end of my pregnancy, when I got stretch marks. You prob don't have any, but if you do...that might be causing the itch???

I am glad to say that I have stopped itching. But it looks like it goes in cycle. 3 days of itching, 4 days off. It started again over last weekend. Hopefully I will get a break this weekend. But I am definitely getting practice on the lack of sleep. =)
